About La Casa De Frida

Wandering through the vibrant streets of the Bronx, one may stumble upon a culinary gem that encapsulates the zest of Mexican cuisine – La Casa De Frida. Located at 307 E 204th St, this charming spot offers not just a meal, but an experience that lingers on the taste buds just as much as it does in memory. With a name inspired by the iconic Frida Kahlo, there's an expectation of color, boldness, and creativity, and this establishment does not disappoint.

Stepping inside, it's impossible not to be enveloped by the warm, inviting atmosphere. There's a splash of color on every wall, with art that pays homage to its namesake. The dining area is cozy but not cramped, making it perfect for both an intimate dinner and a lively gathering of friends. And oh, the aromas wafting from the kitchen! They offer tantalizing hints of what's to come.

The menu at La Casa De Frida offers a refreshing take on traditional Mexican dishes, blending authentic flavors with a modern twist. Imagine starting with a plate of enchiladas suizas, decadently topped with a green tomatillo sauce that promises a tangy kick. Tacos, of course, are a must-try, and here they come bursting with fillings like carnitas, as well as vegetarian options that cater to plant-based enthusiasts. Don't overlook the mole poblano, it's a rich, complex sauce that clings lovingly to tender chicken.

La Casa De Frida's bar serves up more than just the usual cerveza, with an array of cocktails that showcase the versatility of tequila and mezcal. A handcrafted margarita, with just the right balance of sweet and sour, complements any dish. Or, for the adventurous, a smoky mezcal concoction might be the perfect accompaniment to the meal.

The buzz about this place has been overwhelmingly positive. Locals and newcomers alike sing praises about not just the food but the hospitality that comes with it. The staff make diners feel like they've stepped into a warm, familial embrace, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu and eager to offer recommendations tailored to any palate.

So whether the mood strikes for a casual lunch, a festive dinner, or perhaps a celebration of a special occasion, La Casa De Frida seems to have a keen sense for curating memorable dining experiences. It's more than just a place to eat; it's a gateway into the heart of Mexican tradition with a contemporary spin. In a city as diverse as New York, spots like this stand out not just for flavor but for their full-bodied embrace of culture and community.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ La Casa de Frida in the Bronx (307 E 204th St) is truly an unforgettable experience and easily one of my favorite spots in the city. From the moment you walk in, you can feel how dedicated the entire team is to making sure every guest has not just a great time, but the best experience possible. Whether you’re in the mood for fun music, karaoke, or a relaxed, chill night, La Casa de Frida truly offers something for everyone. The food and drinks are a huge highlight. They’re especially known for their margaritas, which are always perfectly crafted. My personal favorite is the mezcalita—smooth, smoky, and full of flavor. Even if margaritas aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other options available. The Old Fashioned is another one of my go-to drinks and is always made just right. The bartenders clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows in every drink. This is also the perfect place for a girls’ night out. The vibe, the music, the drinks, and the energy make it ideal for celebrating, laughing, and having an unforgettable night. The Frida-inspired décor is absolutely beautiful, and they go all out with decorations—not just every day, but for every occasion. Whether it’s a holiday, a theme night, or a special celebration, the space is always decorated in a way that makes it feel festive and special. La Casa de Frida is also amazing for larger groups. They offer company buyouts and can cater to big parties, making it a perfect spot for corporate events, group celebrations, and special occasions. They truly know how to host a party, and birthdays are clearly their favorite occasion to celebrate. When I went to celebrate my own birthday, they made me feel like I had booked a full private party—even though it was just a regular night. The staff and even the customers were so kind and welcoming, and the love I felt that night was unreal. It was honestly the best birthday experience, and I highly recommend celebrating your birthday at Frida. They open at 2 PM, have happy hour from 3 PM to 8 PM, and even offer a happy hour lunch menu, which makes it a great spot any time of day. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, staff, and overall energy, La Casa de Frida is a place you’ll want to come back to again and again. 💃🏽🍹🎉

I was surprised by how pretty the ambiance was for an intimate conversation. The portraits of Frida made me feel like I was transported back to Mexico City. The food was delicious and the service was efficient. I enjoyed the large portion size for the vegetable quesadilla and the guacamole. Make sure you ask for the spicy green and red sauce that adds a spicy flavor to the food and makes for a more authentic Mexican experience! I left here very full and wanting to comeback. Thank you.

Cutest little place with some banging drinks and food! I learned about this place through Google Maps and boy didil it not disappoint. I ordered a coconut Mojito that made me wonder why did I ever stop since it was so tasty! And for lunch my husband ordered the shrimp quesadilla that came with sour cream, guac, pico de gallo and fries. The whole dish was phenomenal, even the fries were seasoned. My chila quiles verdes tasted better than the ones I had in mexico a few months ago. I definitely tasted the authenticity and flavor behind the food, and the music had me reminiscing of when I was young! Loved it, and will definitely go back!
